A comparatively recent release from Bowmore, the 18 year old was launched in January of 2007 to replace the 17 year old. According to the distillers, this expression contains a higher percentage of Oloroso Sherry cask-matured whisky. 18 Years Old, 43% abv, a masterful combination of ripe fruit, dark chocolate and Islay smoke.
Tasting Notes:
ON THE EYE : Mellow mahogany.
NOSE : Classic Bowmore smokiness, perfectly tempered with creamy caramel, chocolate and ripe fruit aromas.
SIP : Beautiful soft fruit and chocolate balanced with a light smokiness - incredibly complex.
SAVOUR : The long and wonderfully balanced finish.
